Millie is a 6 year old girl who loves Disney Princesses. She has a mild intellectual disability, cerebral palsy and epilepsy. Her father works hard to support his wife and 4 children on a very modest annual income. Almost all of the state therapy programs that Millie attended have been cut due to the budget crisis, so Millie’s Dad took her to the UCLA Center for Cerebral Palsy to see if Millie qualified for therapy there. While she was there, Millie rode a bike that was donated to the center by Variety of Southern CA. The Doctors noted that Millie was a perfect candidate to benefit from an adaptive tricycle. Millie was able to assist in pedaling the adaptive bicycle with rear steering and braking and it improved her strength and endurance as well as being FUN. Variety of Southern California bought Millie a bright new pink bike of her very own.

We think Millie’s smile says it all…
