Scott Forman, senior vp and assistant GM of domestic distribution at Warner Bros. Pictures, will receive the Al Shapiro Distinguished Service Award on Oct. 18 at the upcoming ShowEast convention.

The annual award will honor Forman for his charitable work with Variety-the Children’s Charity.

“Scott Forman is that rare executive today who has achieved enormous success from both a business and charitable standpoint, and this is a great feat in and of itself,” ShowEast co-managing director Mitch Neuhauser said.

Forman joined Warner Bros. in 1989 and went on to become the Los Angeles district manager in 1994 and vp Western division in 1998. In 2001, he was promoted to senior vp and moved to his current position in 2006.

His distribution credits include “The Departed,” “Million Dollar Baby” and the “Harry Potter” series.

Forman will receive his award at the Final Night Banquet for ShowEast, which takes place Oct. 15-18 in Orlando.

ShowEast is produced by the Nielsen Film Group, a division of Nielsen Business Media, parent company of The Hollywood Reporter.
